DescriptionJapanese wooden sandal pair from the Gila Internment Camp. The sandals have holes for straps with two wooden strips on bottom to raise the foot from the ground.
Albert Schenker is the grandfather of the donor, Kim Bush. Schenker lived in Casa Grande beginning in the 1960s, and he found the pair of sandals on one of his trips out to the old Gila Internment Camp site.
