DescriptionTempe High School Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano De Atzlan (M.E.C.H.A ) binder for years 1972 to 1977. Binder contains organization constitutions and charters, typewritten letters for workshops and ceremonies, scholarship documentation, newsclippings, with a number of the documents in tandem with an entry to the Outstanding Club Award Contest. Tucked into the inside pocket are receipts, written forms, and a field trip request letter for visiting the Yuma Territorial Prison, Morales Dam, and multiple campgrounds within San Diego. "The purpose of this organization shall be to develop unity among those concerned with the present and future progress of students and communities, and to provide an opportunity for dialogue about Mexican American problems."
