DescriptionFrom the 1996 Tempe History Museum time capsule, a letter addressed to Tempeans from Hayden C. Hayden, the grandson of Tempe's founder, Charles Trumbull Hayden. In the letter, Hayden writes that he is honored to chair the 125th Anniversary citizens committee and says a number of events are in line to celebrate Tempe's birthday. The letter references the second item in this file, which is a booklet that has a list of 125th Anniversary events that begins with a dedication of the Charles Trumbull Hayden sculpture and culminates with a rededication of City Hall on its 25th anniversary. Hayden finishes his letter by asserting that Tempe has a proud history and an exciting future, and calls on the community to remember those who preceded them and continue carrying on the caring attitude that is the hallmark to the Tempe community's success.Status
