Description2019 City of Tempe Diversity Award Winner Katherine Kouvelas-Edict volunteered for many years at Tumbleweed, an organization assisting homeless youth. When Tumbleweed closed, Katherine started a 501c3 to take up the charge of feeding, clothing and supporting sober living for the homeless youth in Tempe. In addition to feeding these youth, she also does their laundry at a local laudromat. She currently is caring for seven pregnant girls who live at Maggie's House, keeping them off the streets and sober, outfitting them with clothing, cribs and playpens. She even makes sure that all the homeless youths' pets have food, blankets, licenses and vaccines. Her 501c3, Aris Foundation, organizes donors and volunteers to not just feed empty stomachs, but to tend to hurting soulds. Individual Adult Award.Status
