BiographyProfessor of Education at ASU.
Earned a Bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of New Mexico (1931) and a Master's degree in chemistry from the University of Massachusetts (1934). In the 1930s, he taught high school science and math in Tularosa, Gallup, and Springer, New Mexico. Became professor of chemistry and physics at McMurry College in Abilene, Texas, in 1942. The next year he taught physic at the Texas College of Mines and Metallurgy (now Texas Western University). Received a Ph.D. from the University of Texas in Austin in 1946.
Became an associate professor of education at Arizona State University in 1946; in 1949 he was promoted to professor and became director of the summer session. During the 1950-51 academic year, served as an advisor to the Minister of Education in Ecuador.
President of the Mountains Plains Adult Education Association in the 1960s.
Received the Arizona Governor's Award in Safety Education in 1954 for his work in establishing courses in training driver-education teachers at ASU.
He also served as Dean of Summer Sessions and Director of Extension Service at ASU.
