BiographyFarmer and businessman.
Attended Illinois Wesleyan University. Worked for a year as a clerk in the State National Bank at Bloomington and then as a farmer. In 1893, after visiting his former Illinois neighbors, the Frankenburg family, in Tempe, he purchased an alfalfa ranch in Maricopa County.
In 1901 he became one of the organizers of the Tempe National Bank and was elected President. In 1914 until 1925. He was elected a director of Tempe Cotton Exchange.
Was a shareholder in the Tempe Irrigating Canal Company in 1921 and 1923, and later served as its Presidentin 1921. President of Southern Extension of the Tempe Irrigating Canal Co. and the Orange Belt Canal (Kyrene Ditch). President of Tempe Milling Co in 1921, '23., -'25. In 1925 pres of First National Bank.
His family owned the Andre Building at 401-403 S. Mill Avenue, 1912-1977.
Member of the Masonic Lodge and Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.
Lived 3 miles southeast of Tempe.
