BiographyPhysician, farmer, and beekeeper.Came to Tempe in 1877.
Graduated from the Medical School of Ohio in 1858. Served as a doctor and surgeon for the Confederate Army during the Civil War.
Moved to California, c1849. His first wife, ? Daniels Gregg, died there, and in 1853 he returned to Missouri with his son, L. L. Gregg.
First met Charles T. Hayden in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1875, who encouraged him to move to Tempe.
He arrived in Arizona in 1877 and established a 160-acre homestead two miles southwest of Tempe, near what is now Broadway and Priest, and raised grain and sugar beets.
Served one term as Justice of the Peace for Tempe, and served on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, c1878-1882. He also served as a Trustee of Tempe School District No. 3 in 1884.
