BiographyGrew up in Texas. At the age of 16, he passed the required examination and received a teacher's certificate. At 19, he moved with his parents to Tempe and enrolled at the Tempe Normal School, where he was captain of the track team, a member of the Debating Club, president of the A.D.C.. and editor-in-chief of The Student. He graduated in 1912. He began teaching in the Madison School District. In 1913, he became principal at Camp Verde, and in 1914, at San Simon.
He drowned on 22 Sep 1915, at age 26, in the Salt River near the State Highway Bridge (Ash Avenue Bridge), either from heart failure or acute indigestion.
Lived at 401/405 S. Maple Avenue, c1910.
