BiographyCame to Tempe c1888.
Her father was a miller who ran a flour mill in Wisconsin, then went to Kansas. Her father died in 1885, and her mother died in 1886, so at the age of sixteen she went to California to join her brothers, who had gone west before her. She arrived in Arizona in December of 1875 from San Francisco. She lived first at New River on the Black Canyon Road, then moved to a ranch south of Tempe in 1888. After her marriage in 1890, she lived on the south half of the J. B. Mullen Ranch. The family then leased the ranch and moved to Mesa for ten years. She was a member of the Rebecca and Pythian Sisters lodges.
