DescriptionThis is a western style teacup with a rounded body, a slender handle and deep perpendicular foot. There is a hand painted design on the exterior body of the cup which depicts a woman in a kimono on a bridge. There are houses and blooming cherry trees in the middle ground. Fuji volcano and lake or sea in background. Handle and foot are red with a gold design. The interior is white. There are no markings on the base and the cup is glazed.

The saucer is deep with a shallow indentation for the foot of the cup. The design is the same as on the cup. The rim of the saucer is deep red and green with gold lines. The saucer has a sharp perpendicular foot. There is a trademark on the base which consists of a wreath of foliage and cherry blossom enclosing the initials "TN" and "Japan". Outside of the wreath on the bottom reads "Hand painted".
