DescriptionFrom an article published by Tempe Daily News, Wednesday, March 23, 1977:

They Have A stake in UW Too -

Young people at Tempe High School, as members of various school organizations, went to bat for Tempe United Way by raising a total of $205 to help the High School Division of the 1977 UW campaign of this past year reach its goal. And as a reward for their work, Tempe United Way presented THS Student Council with an award plaque for the high school students' outstanding contribution to the annual fund drive, which benefits many agencies whose work aids young people. Bill Graham (2nd from left), chairman for United Way on the THS campus, presents plaque to Winnie Tam, THS senior and chairman of the school's Inter-Club Council, and Kristi Nelson (right), Student Body president, as Student Council advisor Harry Mitchell looks on approvingly.
