DescriptionFrom an article/photograph published in Tempe Daily News, May 17, 1977:

A 'Founding Father' -

Dr. Charles Wexler (seated), who founded the Arizona State University mathematics department, wound up nearly a half century on the faculty of that department when he retired with the end of the ASU spring semester. Math faculty members and other friends joined in wishing him well at a retirement party recently at which Abe Sinkov (left), professor of mathematics, and Mrs. Jeannette Cross, head secretary and assistant to the chairman of the department - both also retiring - were honored too.
