DescriptionFrom Tempe Daily News May 20, 1977 caption reads: First Christian Church (from right) Choir Director Mrs. Jean Hegel and organist Mrs. Nelrose Grant try on new choir robes as their donor Mrs. Anna Lutey and minister, Rev. Glen Vernon, admire them. The green-trimmed gold robes, presented to the church by Mrs. Lutey as a memorial to her husband Roger Lutey who passed away here on October 24, 1976, will be dedicated at the 10:30 a.m. worship service at the church, 2720 South Dorsey Lane, Sunday, with the Adult Choir presenting special music for the occasion. Mr. Lutey, a teacher at Loma Linda School in Phoenix from 1955 until his death, sang in the tenor section of the choir, served as chairman of the music committee last year and was very active in other areas of the church.The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G7-C.
