DescriptionFrom Tempe Daily News May 18, 1977, caption reads: Early arrivals at the polls for Guadalupe Town Council election yesterday check in with the election board. But, though they were there at 9:30 a.m., these women weren't first in line by a long shot. By 9:28 a.m., 251 Guadalupanos had already cast their ballots in the General Election to choose new Town Council members. Getting ready to cast her ballot is Frances Alvarez.
