Planning to speak at the September 20 full membership meeting of the League of Women Voters of East Maricopa County include Evan Patten, left, chairman of the Governor's Commission on the Environment; and Sue Lofgren, Tempe, State Water Chairman, National Drinking Water Advisory Council. The League's meeting will be held at the Doubletree Inn on the Mall, Scottsdale at 9:30 a.m., with a salad luncheon served after the program on Women in Politics." The League of Women Voters of East Maricopa County will present "Women in Politics" at its fall membership meeting Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Doubletree Inn on the Mall, Scottsdale.

Included on the panel will be Tempeans Eva Patten, chairman of the Governor's Commission on the Environment; and Sue Lofgren, State Water Chairman, National Drinking Water Advisory Council; along with Billie Gentry, Councilwoman, city of Scottsdale; and Muriel Beroz, State Air Pollution Control Advisory Council.

All members of the League, the panelists will discuss women in politics and how League membership sparked their interest to become more involved in public service.

A salad luncheon for $4.25 will be served after the program. Reservations are requested.

The League believes that "whether one is a homemaker or member of the business world, Leaguers find their membership to be helpful in becoming better informed about current community, state and national issues.

League of Women Voters of East Maricopa County includes members from Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, Chandler, and Paradise Valley.
