DescriptionFrom a photograph caption appearing in Tempe Daily News, Friday, November 18, 1977:

Never Too Late To Learn -

Diane Bush (left), teacher for GED class at Marcos de Niza High School, encourages a trio of her new "graduates" to go right on learning. Among first of her this year's students to take and pass the state examination to receive their GED certificates, equivalent to a high school graduation diploma, are (from right) Loretta Mueller, Lorene Dovi and Rusty Fuller, Sixty-seven-year-old Mrs. Mueller who "hadn't been in school for over 50 years," doesn't plan to go on for a college degree, but says she hopes to take some college courses to keep on learning and to help "make friends." But Lorene plans to enroll in a junior college immediately and "Rusty" will follow suit at a later date.
