Caption from the Tempe 150th Anniversary exhibit:
Despite changing technologies, the twin projectors operated by Bill Greig at the Valley Art in 1977 had changed little since “Red” Harkins’ opened the movie house as the College Theatre in 1940. Harkins wanted the best projectionist he could hire, and Greig served the theatre for 42 years, staying on the job even after new owners took over.
