DescriptionBlack and white photograph of Laird & Dines Drugstore, when it was still in business. Photo has 'Main Street Tempe Arizona" written on it and shows cars from that time period, along with several young men lounging in front of the store near bicycles and a woman standing by the street. Also visible is the movie theater and shops to the south of the drug store.

The College Theatre, near the right edge of the photo, opened in November 1940. Today it is the Valley Art Theatre - still owned and operated by the Harkins family (Red Harkins built and opened the theatre in 1940).
