DescriptionGrand opening Saturday of new Mervyn's store at Rural Road and Southern Avenue ended a long wait for Tempeans to see something take up the "slack" left when W.T. Grant store closed at that spot a couple of years ago. Welcoming the new store and its manager Dick Duress (center) are a pair of "Chamber Maids" -- Marge McLaughlin (left), member of Tempe Chamber of Commerce board of directors, and Wanza Voigt, assistant manager of the Chamber.The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G8-A.
