DescriptionFrom a photograph caption appearing in the Saturday, April 8, 1978 issue of Tempe Daily News:Ah, T'is Spring, T'is Spring - It's a sign of spring in Tempe when the orchid tree at Sixth street and Myrtle, long a harbinger of that favorite of all seasons here - bursts forth in a glory of blossoms. And this year, the tree boasts a bigger bounty of beautiful blossoms than it has for years. Valley's rainier than usual winter has turned spring in Tempe into an extra spectacular display of colorful flowers and delightful aromas of blossoming things. But, woe of woes, isn't it a shame that such splendiferous beauty also means the worst season of the year for hay fever and other allergy sufferers!
