DescriptionRoger Saxton points out for Tempe Fire Marshall Don Martin the bedroom window he escaped from when the Saxton home in South Tempe went up in flames last month. Inspecting the scene of tragedy with 12-year-old Roger, his nine-year-old brother Jason and their mother Nancy Saxton, Martin said Roger did just right when he tested the doorknob on the closed door to his bedroom, found it hot and left the door closed to jump out the window instead. It was a terrifying moment, said Mrs. Saxton. Just after Roger hit the ground, his bedroom exploded in fire.
