Refreshing Wash -

Larry Elliot washes the sting out of his eyes after being rescued by firemen from a burning seventh floor apartment Sunday. Authorities said Elliot was visiting a friend's apartment at rural and Terrace when it caught fire. He suffered minor smoke inhalation and was not hospitalized.

Apartment Fire Loss Estimated At $8,000 -

Fire of an unknown nature inflicted about $8,000 damage to an apartment Sunday night at Terrace and Rural. Jim Gaitner of the Tempe Fire Department said the blaze broke out in a seventh floor room of the Cinnamon Tree Apartments. He said there were no injuries but the apartment and a nearby hallway suffered extensive smoke damage. According to Gaitner, the fire started in the furniture of an apartment rented by, Jim Ransom. Cause of the fire has not been determined. He said furniture and personal belongings in the apartment suffered about $3,000 damage. There was only on occupant in the room at the time of the fire. Gaitner said firemen rescued Larry Elliot; a friend of Ransom's who was staying at the apartment. Elliot was trapped on a balcony outside the apartment and firemen went through the burning room and pulled him to safety. He was treated for minor
