DescriptionIt was an exuberant group of Tempe Boys Club board of directors members and guests who gathered at Carl Hayden Boys Clubhouse grounds early last weekend, complete with bedrolls, kerosene lanterns and sunshading hats. They were bound for the Salt River canyon and a two-day river-rafting excursion both for fun and for fund-raising. Profits from registration fees paid by the adventurers will go to Tempe Boys' Club. Among the river rovers: (from left) Wendell Rote, Bob Beatty, a past president of the board; Tom Day, Rick Hammond, Joe Bednarski, Gary Bird, Ken Becker and Bill Barks, another Boys Club board past president.The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G8-B.
