DescriptionFor TDN caption:Tempe Activities League members (from left) Curth Thompson, McKemy school eighth grader; Mike Kuc, Marcos de Niza Hight School freshman; and (right) Karina Thompson, Evans school fifth grader, are getting excited early about first summer camp planned by the league jointly with the China Valley Youth association. Pointing out that they still have lots of time to get ready for camp sessions of Camp Aurora near Prescott -- they're scheduled August 16-21 and August 22-27 -- is Steve Thompson, who'll serve as camp director, was instrumental in founding the Tempe Activities League and is Curt and Karina's dad. The camp is open to all boys and girls ages 8 to 18.
