DescriptionFrom a photograph caption appearing in Tempe Daily News, October 11, 1978:

Minus One Tutor - McClintock High School seniors Lisa Hyde (left) and Mona Hudson are two of the volunteer tutors who are contributing to the success of a Gililland Junior High School reading program - in which the volunteer tutors work on a one to one basis with student, to help them upgrade their reading skills. Object of the program, ideally, is to bring seventh and eighth graders who read at considerably below their grade levels up to grade level. There's just one problem. The Gililland Reading Center doesn't have enough volunteer tutors to go around - so the third student on the left above is missing a tutor. If you'd like to help, call the Gililland Reading Center, 839-7265. The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G8-D.
