DescriptionBurel Carney, right, wasn't clowning around when he suggested that Tempe Daily News columnist Paulette Bolyard, center, change the name of her weekly TDN column from "Mother No's Best" to "Off the Wall." Bolyard's kids, relieved they'll no longer be subject for mom's columns, chose Carney's entry as winner in a re-name the column contest. So, then, Carney had a chance to clown around when he collected one of the prizes -- lunch at 9th and Ash with Bolyard and Mayor Harry Mitchell.See the February 7, 1985 Tempe Daily News.
