The Tempe farmstead of William and Zina LeBaron in the mid-1880s. The Lebarons came to Tempe in 1882 with Benjamin F. Johnson’s company of Mormon settlers. In 1887, the Johnson company settlers sold their land and moved closer to Mesa to establish the community of Nephi.
