DescriptionThe long satin wedding dress has a longer back as a train. It has a ruffled Peter Pan collar, satin covered buttons down the front of bodice and leg-o-mutton sleeves. Gown was made in 1948 by groom's mother, Aerie Cooper. Used 8-22-48 in San Diego, Ca. at United Brethren Church. Married City Mgr (1964-65) Louis S. Cooper who died in a plane accident in 1965. Donor requests if item is displayed, the name should be "Dorothy Cooper Nelson, first woman councilmember for City of Tempe".
