DescriptionMemorabilia from Sister Cities Program with Japan, painted miniature Byōbu. Byōbu are Japanese folding screens made from several panels, often used to separate interior spaces. This one is made with four two-sided panels of white stone or resin. Each panel is painted and signed, four are filled with text written in Kanji, and the other four are of pagodas surrounded by trees and sky. The panels are set within a lacquered dark wood, with metal hinges.
