DescriptionColor photographs of a postcard that shows an Exterior view, dining room, and banquet room of Monti's La Casa Vieja restaurant. Leonard Monti bought La Casa Vieja in 1954 and reopened the restaurant 2 years later. Second image is of the back of the postcard with the lengthy description of the building and its history: "Monti's La Casa Vieja The Old House" "Mill Avenue at First Street Tempe, Arizona, Famous for Steaks the world over". One of Arizona's original landmarks standing since the frontier days - and birthplace of Carl Hayden, senior Senator of the United States Senate. The walls of this building are of eighteen inch adobe brick. The ceiling is made of heavy logs and willow thatch, hauled from Prescott by Mule Freight Banquet room shown in lower right picture."
