Came to Tempe in 1895.
Graduated from Poydras College, Point Coupee Parish, Louisiana. Was a school teacher and newspaper correspondent in New Orleans. For a time also was bookkeeper and paymaster for the International Construction Company of Mexico. He moved to Arizona where he worked in real estate in Phoenix for a short time, then was employed as conductor of the construction train of the Maricopa and Phoenix Railroad and brought the first train into Phoenix on 4 Jul 1887. He continued working for the railroad until about 1894.
He moved to Tempe in 1895 and opened a store in the Armstrong Building at 415 S. Mill Avenue. He was a dealer in hardware, dry goods, furniture, household goods, and general undertaker. He was appointed Postmaster in 1897, and his store became Tempe's post office until 1900.
Member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen, Woodmen of the World, and the United Moderns.
He was involved in building St. Mary's Church in Tempe, 1902-1903.
Lived at 108 W. 8th Street (now University Drive), 1895-1905.
Lived on Mill Avenue in 1910.
