BiographyFreighter, farmer, and meat market owner.
Came to Tempe in 1899.
Was a freighter in Territorial days, and continued to drive heavy cargoes of merchandise and machinery while running cattle and farming until the old-time teams were put out of business by the automobile. When a flood of the San Pedro River wiped out his
cattle and farm land near Mammoth, he moved to Florence, acquired another cattle ranch, opened a butcher shop in town, and did freighting on the side.
Lived at 507 E. 8th Street, Tempe in 1923.. Widow lived there in 1925, 1929, '31, '32.
