Came to Tempe in 1892.
Was born on a farm adjoining that of his wife's family near Perry, Missouri. He purchased a 160-acre ranch about seven miles south of Tempe. He and his nephew, William L. Goodwin, purchased a
grocery store from Don Forsee. He retired from the grocery business in 1896 because of ill health.
Lived at the corner of Van Ness and Tyler Street.
Was a charter member of the Tempe Christian Church, which was organized in 1894.
He was a Tempe City Councilman, 1896-1897.
He died in 1897 from tuberculosis.
