A birthday celebration capped off April 27 meeting of Tempe East Rotary at Holiday Inn - and bringing out the birthday cake for all to admire were charter member Grand Moody (right) and current president Dan Crowley. Founded 10 years ago on April 27, Tempe East Rotary has been involved in many civic projects over the years - most notable the Rotary-Schick Tennis Tournament which enabled club to buy a brand new van for the Tempe Center for the handicapped in 1972. This year club sold homemade Christmas cards and bought the center an electric wheelchair with proceeds. Tempean Joe Dwight was District Rotary governor at time the club was founded. Charter member Moody is current president elect.
