Tempe youngsters bound next week for the first of two summer Salvation Army summer camps in which local area boys and girls will participate had to have real will power as they worked Wednesday at a project to help pay their way to camp. All those delicious looking goodies being shown off by (from left) Mrs. Mary Torrez, McKemy school seventh grader Frank Murray, Tempe Salvation Army Captain Donna Patterson and Thew school fifth grader Johna Davis where wares for a bake sale staged by the young people at Valley Fair shopping center. Johna and Frank are among youngsters who’ll attend an SA "Alumni Camp" at Camp O'Wood near Oracle next week; Mrs. Torrez, mother of another camper, did a lot of the baking for the sale - and the Donald Duck cake Capt. Patterson is holding is one she made herself for the project.
