DescriptionIt won't seem any different from any other working day to 13-year-old Rose Wearne and her 11-year-old brother Will when they deliver their Tempe Daily News routes this afternoon. But today is national Newspaper Carriers Day , a salute to young people such as Rose and Will and approximately 120 other Tempe boys and girls who bring TDN to your doorstep six days a week. News carriers are the city's youngest " merchants " getting their first taste of the responsibilities of being businessman and women as they deliver their product , keep their own collection records and solicit new customers to build their routes- and increase their " takehome pay ." Children of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Wearne, Rose has been delivering TDN for one year, her brother for six months.
