DescriptionTaken from Tempe Daily News January 20, 1978:Donald W. Kirkman (center), formally installed as a new member of the Tempe Union High School District Board of Education at that board's regular metting last night, is filled in on his duties by Dr. Richard L. Smith(left), 1978 president of the school board, and Dr, John Waters, TUHS District superintendent, Kirkman, chief operations officer and a senior vice president of Valley National Bank, will fill term of Thomas Griffith, who has resigned. He was appointed by County School Superintendent Richard Harris.
