DescriptionTempe Garden Club observed Arbor Day, Friday, by donating six pear trees as an addition to the Memorial Grove of flowering pear trees at the north end of the lake in Tempe's Kiwanis Park. On hand for the Friday planting by City of Tempe crew (back left) were; (l to r front) Mrs. Helen Wexler, who served as first president of Tempe Garden Club from 1936 to 1938; Bev Hermon, member of the club's "Yard of the Month" contest committee; and longtime TGC member Sarah Birchett.The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G7-F.
