DescriptionThat's what ventifacts -- carved and polished rock fragments being shown by Dr. Troy L. Pewe at ASU Geology Museum -- were formed by: sand transported from flood plin of White Water river by strong winds funneling through San Gorgonis Pass in California. Pewe and a former student, Peter Kokalis, collected the well-developed ventifacts, now part of the exhibits in the new Geology Museum.See also 2001.19.3018 and 3020-3024.
