DescriptionFrom a photo caption in Tempe Daily News, Friday, June 23, 1978:Sense Of Satisfaction - That's what working as a volunteer Candy Striper at Desert Samaritan Hospital, Mesa, gives Tempe teenager Trudy Vigue. And she must give a lot of satisfaction, too, because she was chosen as that hospital's Candy Striper of the Year recently. Trudy said when she "signed up," she thought the volunteer job "wouldn't be that hard and there wouldn't be too much to do." But, she adds, "I thought wrong. You have to be responsible; they rely on you a lot."
