DescriptionFrom an article and photo caption appearing in the July 29, 1978 issue of Tempe Daily News:Verne And Perke - Former Tempe City Magistrate Verne McHenry Eskridge, born 88 years ago in Kentucky, sits with his dog Perke. Since coming to Arizona in 1909, Verne has held many jobs including being one of the first KOY radio station disc jockeys. He is known around town by several names including "Mike," "Judge" or just "Verne."
