Description2019 City of Tempe Diversity Award winner Rodney Montreuil is a native of Haiti and the founder and Executive Director of the Haitian American Center for Social Economic Development (HACSED), currently servicng the Haitian refugees and immigrants residing in the East Valley, including those living in Tempe. Fluent in many languages, Rodney serves as the voice for newly arriving students from the Caribbean and Africa who are in great need of guidance and cultural intergration. He recently spent two months volunteering at the immigration detention centers interpreting, document editing, advocating and counseling on immigration related issues. Rodney partnered with Catholic Charities and The Florence Project to obtain a wide range of ervices for the refugess, including jobs and educational services, to guarantee their complete integration into Arizona's mainstream society.
