DescriptionFrom a photo caption (Exchange officer) appearing on Page A8, Tempe Daily News, Friday, August 23, 1985:Mayor Harry Mitchell, right, congratulates Tempe police officer Peter Janik Wednesday, after Janik was selected from among four officers to visit Tempe's sister city, Regensburg, West Germany. The city has exchanged high school students with its sister cities, but this is the first time it has sent a police officer to visit. Shown from left, officers Steve Crooks, Janik, Jay Spradling, Ray Gotz, Mitchell and Police Chief Art Fairbanks. The city will pay Janik's transportation costs, while Regensburg residents will provide his room and board.
