DescriptionFrom a photo caption (Remember when?) appearing on Page A6, Tempe Daily News, 'Applause' section, Saturday April 26, 1986:

There was lots of "remembering when" as graduates of Tempe High School from 1912 to 1944 gathered for an annual reunion last weekend at a different Tempe High School then they attended. Getting reacquainted were, from left, Gladys "Tommie" Thompson Niehuls, Class of 1929, who came all the way from Anchorage, Alaska for the reunion; Bert Goodrich, Class of 1926, of Canoga Park, Calif.; Irene Bishop, oldest graduate present at the reunion as a member of the Class of 1916; and, far right, Keith Mortenson, Class of 1941, accompanied by his wife, Kay, who he had just married that morning. Niehuls holds a photo of the Tempe High School at Eighth Street (now University Drive) and Mill Avenue, which these early THS grads attended.
