Description2019 City of Tempe Diversity Award winner Walt Richardson leads by example the spirit of diversity through his long history of music in Tempe. As host of Walk-In-Wednesday Open Mic Night at the Tempe Center for the Arts, he encourages musicians of all races, ethnicities and backgrounds. Music is an important part of Tempe's culture and Walt's reggae music is about peace, love and equality. Walt has been a part of Tempe's community for over 40 years, writing music and lyrics about love for his community, inclusion, peace and coming together. Additionally, Walt volunteers at several local schools and works with many nonprofit organizations to help the community. Individual Adult AwardStatus
