BiographyAttended Tempe High School and Arizona State University, where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees. Was a high school PE teacher and coach for Mesa Public School District, beginning in 1966, and later became Athletic Director at Mesa High School. Was elected a member of the Tempe School District No. 3 Governing Board in 1988. Was appointed a member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in 1991, where he served two years. Tempe City Council member, 1994-present.
In 1993, the ASU College of Education presented him with a Distinguished Achievement Award.
