DescriptionThis is a 95 page collection of documents fastened together pertaining to the "Northeast Quarter of Section Eleven (11) in Township One (1) South, of Range Four (4) East of Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian." The title search abstracts include water rights, Tempe Canals, taxes, mortgages and all owners pre 1924 dating to Jan 1898 when Frederick Doblebower of Tempe, AZ established a homestead. Included are April 1898 mortgages for a loan to Niels Petersen, Dec 1889 mortgages to A. G. Goodwin for a loan, etc. He defaulted on a loan and then Valentine Gant owned it. It was sold to Goodwin, who sold it to A. J. Chandler. Gant also sold to J. W. Holsapple who sold it to Floyd Holsapple. Many mortgages are included. In 1906 Niels Peterson got mortgage loan money to Floyd. Holsapple sold it to Elling Olsen in 1909. There are lawsuits naming Elling Olsen (unmarried man) and Sophia M. Olsen "sometime known as his wife."
