DescriptionThe April 20, 1971 Tempe Daily News included this picture taken at a Sunday special picnic held for pioneers at the Knights of Pythias Hall. From right to left, Mrs. Nita Scudder Baugh who traveled the longest distance to the Centennial celebration (Philadelphia). Miss Ophelia Celaya received an award for the pioneer woman with the longest continuous residency and Mrs. Ruby Haigler Wood admires the reward given to Tempean Vic Corbell for being the male with the longest continuous Tempe residency.
