DescriptionTaken from Tempe Daily News - February 28, 1978:

Instead of "singing for their suppers," members of Tempe First United Methodist Church Jubilate Singers youth choir will be "working for a trip" when they stage a Slave Day here on Saturday, March 11. Getting in practice are Carol Munn (left) and Sany Akins, both students at Tempe High School, who want to be sure they have window-washing techniques down pat before they offer their services to the public for the Slave Day work day. Jubilate members will "sell themselves" in teams of two to do yard work, housecleaning, straightening out storage sheds or whatever other kind of around-the-home work Tempeans may need done. Young people are accepting reservations for services now and Tempeans who want to sign them up for a job on March 11 may call the church, 967-3376, to do so.
