DescriptionFrom an article published in Tempe Daily News, June 5, 1978:Boys State Bound - William Bloys Post 2, American Legion Commander Pete Gillespie (far right) and Commander-Elect Bob Grainger (far left) give Tempe's Arizona Boys State delegates a send-off. Leaving Saturday for Northern Arizona University campus, Flagstaff, and the June 3-9 Boys State sponsored by Arizona Department, American Legion, were (not in order pictured) Tempe High students Paul Hiebert, Brian Broshar, Troy Nelson, Mark Kendall, McClintock students Pete Leonard, David Kirkman, Greg Lair, Ty Hutchings and De Niza students Allen Kirksey, William DeKemper, Bayard Chang and Stephan Colgate.
